The South Bristol MAC is a British Model Flying Association (BMFA) affiliated model club and was formed in 1947.

We are called South Bristol MAC because that is where we were based in the very early years. However now-a-days we have members from all over as we are one of only a few clubs left that cater for control-line and free flight and where most members still enjoy building their own models.

Club members build and fly model aircraft covering many different classes of aeromodelling including Free Flight, Control Line and Indoor disciplines.

We have more than 50 members who enjoy both "fly for fun" and competitions. Flying meetings take place all year round.

We hold a meeting at the Berkeley site each month where control-line flying takes place. There is also indoor flying most months when the hall is available. See our  'Club Calendar' for dates. Visitors are very welcome to join us on these days!  Our AGM is also held at Berkeley in December.

Most other Sundays throughout the year ( and some mid-week summer evenings ) we have flying of Control-line and free flight at our 30+ acre Colerne MOD site ( situated between Bristol and Chippenham ).

Several times a year we normally book a large hall at a local Leisure Centre for more extensive indoor flying - another perk of club membership!

Each year - normally mid-summer  - we hold our annual club Gala which is a little different each year and to which visitors are especially welcome to see what we're up to!

Please spare a few moments to view the rest of our website - happy browsing!  Maybe view the 'Latest Events' page to see what we have been up to recently  or our 'Club Calendar' page to see what we have planned for this year?
